The 2009 activities line-up and pairings have been announced...

...as well as the weather forecast at a formidable 101 degrees. But that won't stop the mighty seven of us who are braving the elements and who have refused to let the obstacles of work, weddings, swine flu, girlfriends, opportunity cost vacations, or impending birth and delivery keep us away:
  • Michael Cahn
  • Drew Coleman
  • Marisa Coleman
  • Sara Courtney
  • Mark Stirling
  • Renee Reitmeier
  • Scott Reitmeier

Order of events:

  1. Tennis
  2. Frisbee golf
  3. Bump-out
  4. Bocce
  5. Egg relay
  6. Golf sling
  7. Skip-disc
  8. Swim meet

All events will be competed in pairs, save the final event, which will be scored individually. (Team sports have been done away with to simplify this scoring strategy.) Taking into account the odd number of participants, each competitor will sit out one event - also randomly designated - to act as photographer.

Tennis will "serve as" the first event with the following randomly assigned pairings:

  • Scott and Sara
  • Drew and Marisa
  • Renee and Mark
  • Michael as photographer.

Pre-competition memorable moment: Drew's reminder to apply sunscreen before and during the events is followed by Renee's prompt piping up "and after."

Let the games begin!

Less than a month

SSI3 is less than a month away. It might be time to start talking about what kind of sports we want to do this year. here is a starter list, feel free to add or subtract to it;

Soccer
Football
Kickball
Frisbee golf
bocci ball
tennis
HORSE (for basketball)
Relay Race
skip disc (the one dad and i made up, we played it the first year)
Swim Race (maybe add more than just a back and forth or not)

That is ten sports, which we normally do. we can maybe think of adding more if we want.
